Former Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) forward George King has committed to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for the 2016-17 season.
King, 17, finished the 2015-16 season with the Cochrane Generals, netting 14 points (5-9-14) in seven games, while also registering six points (2-4-6) in 13 post-season contests.
“Proud to be committing to the Alberni Valley Bulldogs for the 2016-17 season,” King tweeted on Thursday. “Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the journey.”
The Calgary, AB product played in 25 games with the Banff Hockey Academy Bears during the 2014-15 HJHL season, amassing 39 points (15-24-39) and 52 penalty-minutes.
Overall, in 32 career regular season HJHL games, the 6-fooot, 180-pounder registered 53 points (20-33-53).
King has also appeared in 38 Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) games the past two seasons with the Calgary Mustangs, Drumheller Dragons and Olds Grizzlys, scoring four goals and six assists.
