The Heritage Junior Hockey League is proud to acknowledge the following award winners for the 2023/2024 Regular Season.
Most Valuable Player (Voted on by the League Member Teams)
- Reid Christiansen – Rocky Rams #12
- Reid has produced since coming into the league at a rather impressive rate, he currently has 1.71 Points Per Game over the last 3 seasons and 1.05 Points Per Game in the playoffs. Only incurring 48 PIM’s during that time. In our opinion Reid is the type of player you build franchises around with his leadership qualities. He has led the league in points all season with the majority scored at 5 on 5.
Most Sportsmanlike Player (Voted on by the League Member Teams)
- Andrew Chapman – Three Hills Thrashers #14
- In his fourth and final year in the HJHL, Andrew has consistently demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship, even while facing challenges like battling injuries this season. Night after night, he remains a formidable opponent, showcasing resilience and determination. What truly sets Chappy apart is his humanitarian spirit – a genuine care for teammates, coaches, officials, and a deep admiration and respect for opponents in the exhilarating battle of hockey.
- Andrew was voted the winner of this award last season as well!
Top Goal Scorer - Tristen Ripplinger – Cannex Cochrane Generals #26
- Tristan finished the Regular Season with 39 goals finishing first in goals and finishing 4th in points with 61. Over his HJHL career, Tristan has scored 107 goals and amassed 216 points in just 132 games. He looks to add to that total in this year’s playoffs.
Top Goaltender - Grady Nicholas – Carstar Okotoks Bisons #1
- Grady had an outstanding regular season which saw him finish in the top 5 in all Goaltender categories, with first place finishes in
- Goals Against Average, Goals Saved Above Average, Save Percentage, Minutes Played, Wins, Shutouts
- For his career, he has 1.80 GAA and a .925 SV%. As part of his impressive numbers his 28 wins are the most wins by any HJHL goaltender in a single regular season in well over a decade!
