Generals 4, Cubs 1

One three-game winning streak deserved another.

The Cubs rattled off a trio of wins to grab a 3-1 series lead but the Generals answered with a three-spot of their own to take the highly competitive matchup in seven games.

Patrick Forde scored the first two goals of the game, including the eventual game winner 36 seconds into the second period, while Sam Norris and Brandon Aab also lit the lamp for the hosts in the Game 7 victory.

Cooper Hilworth replied for the Cubs.

Medicine Hat is the only Jr. B team in the province that can afford to lose a Game 7 without it meaning the end of its season.

The Cubs will have nearly a month before they host the provincial championship tournament April 2-5 at the Kinplex.

Erik Garber made 34 saves for Cochrane, which will visit Okotoks for Game 1 of the HJHL South Division final on Friday (8 p.m.).

Game 2 goes Saturday night in Cochrane (7:30 p.m.).
